Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Lily's offers 5-star service with a smile, a fantastic salsa bar, excellent tequila selection, and unfortunately really bad guacamole.

Definitely a fan of this place because the food is tasty, and the teenage daughters of the owners keep it fun by joking around with their parents and texting their friends in between customers. The regulars are always checking in with them on how they're doing in school. It's a little heart-warming to see how family-run this business is. Second awesome thing is the salsa bar. They have like 6 or so salsas of different consistencies and spiciness to try out ad infinitem. My boyfriend enjoys the giant margaritas. The carne asada is also excellent. One time I ordered a bowl of the chicken soup and it was larger than my head, with like an entire chicken in it. I would definitely recommend Lily's! Keep in mind they're closed on Mondays- a mistake we made last night!

Although we enjoyed our meal at Lilys , we likely won't be going back. I loved the family atmosphere here! Everyone was very friendly! You order at the counter and they bring your food. I was disappointed with the chips - I really like when chips are still hot, but these were thick and cold. The range of salsas on offer was great though, my boyfriend commented that the most likely reason that he would go back would be to taste more salsas. The food itself was just OK. I had a chorizo burrito with rice and beans which I found incredibly filling, so I had leftovers the next day. My boyfriend had cheese enchiladas which he described as "fine". With great prices and a lovely family feel, I really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately the food just wasn't quite enough to bring me back for more.

Here's the straight facts on Lily's: it's clean, it's not expensive, and the food is good. It's not gonna win any beauty pageants, though, that's for sure. The restaurant is run by a Mexican family, and I do mean the whole family: the father, mother, and kids all serve in some capacity. I found the tacos, burritos, flan, and horchata to all be tasty and fairly priced, making for a Mexican restaurant that I can easily recommend, even if it does fall short of being a, "must-eat," establishment. I've never come away unhappy, and if you give it a shot, I'm willing to bet that you won't be unhappy either.

FIrst of all, they don't put dairy in their guacamole so that is awesome. They will serve dairy on top so if you're vegan, ask for it without the stuff on top. Second, they don't have lard/bacon in their beans. Third, their margaritas are REALLY good! Fourth, I was served by what looks like a family and they were ALL nice and the service was good and I loved that. Fifth - the prices were pretty decent for the food. Sixth - they played Mexican music instead of disco or pop....YAY!!!!! The only downsides I saw was that there was no happy hour on the margaritas and I can easily down two $8 margaritas and not be able to afford anything to eat. Also that is some of the dirtiest carpet I've ever seen. Still, since I am quite capable of NOT eating right off of the carpet, I don't really mind and I DO like it that the atmosphere is not overdone and is a tad more diner-ish. I really like this place and can't wait to go back again.
